The notoriously controversial musician Charles Oputa, better known by his stage name Charly Boy, has made accusations that the federal government headed by President Bola Tinubu intends to apprehend Peter Obi, the LP’s presidential candidate in the most recent election, for his persistent criticism of the current administration.
He threatened that Obi would face unprecedented resistance in Nigeria if anyone tried to arrest or prosecute him.
Fearing “an illegal arrest” of Obi might spark a national uprising, he begged the federal government to proceed with care.
Charly Boy posted on his X handle:
“People are saying that Tinubu’s government tried to arrest Peter Obi because he won’t stop criticizing Tinubu for his poor leadership and lack of accountability.
The Obidients are prepared to put up a fight unlike any Nigerian has ever witnessed in the event that Obi is arrested or faces prosecution.
It is imperative that Tinubu’s administration use extreme caution so as not to inflame the country through the unlawful detention of HE Peter Obi.
We demand that Tinubu’s administration stop plotting evil against Peter Obi, because otherwise, Nigeria will change.
