Many of Wizkid’s collaborations with Nigerian artists like Slimcase, never see the light of day

The Grammy-winning Nigerian singer Slimcase has spoken out against Wizkid’s tendency to keep most of the tracks he has recorded with other singers to himself.

As far as he’s concerned, Wizkid gives each song fifty listens before deciding whether or not to release it.

He said that most of the artists who worked with Wizkid never made it past the studio because they couldn’t live up to his expectations.

While working with Wizkid on a song, Slimcase explained, “He will let you do your thing without any scrutiny. Then, in your absence, he can listen to the song like 50 times to know if it meets his standard.” This was stated in an interview Slimcase gave to Naija FM, Lagos. Because of this, it is common to witness musicians working with Wizkid, and the music never ends.

The 2018 single “Gucci Snake” was a collaboration between Slimcase and Wizkid.

Singer BNXN recently criticized Wizkid for allegedly keeping his partnerships with new musicians a secret, as reported by sesothomp3.

He bemoaned the fact that Wizkid consistently teams up with up-and-coming musicians, yet the majority of their tracks never leave the studio.
