Premier League: Ex-Liverpool forward says Chelsea will decide Maresca’s fate

The future of Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca may be in jeopardy throughout the holiday season of next year, according to Stan Collymore, a former Liverpool striker.

According to Collymore, Chelsea should have “stuck with Mauricio Pochettino” instead of supposedly hiring Maresca as their new manager.

Chelsea and Pochettino recently had a falling out.

The Blues are almost ready to make Maresca the official announcement that he has been hired as manager, taking over from Pochettino at Stamford Bridge.

“I would be surprised if, by Christmas, there aren’t whispers about Maresca’s position already being threatened because it is a young, fickle, rookie group,” Collymore said in his CaughtOffside column.

This appointment fails to impress me. The club should have stayed with Pochettino, and I predict that we will be discussing Chelsea’s managerial changes again in the winter months of November and December.
