Jose Mourinho has spoken out about his decision to no longer attend Chelsea games, even though he lives “two minutes” away from Stamford Bridge.
During his two stints with Chelsea, Mourinho won the Premier League, FA Cup, and two League Cups. His first stay was particularly fruitful, as he won the league in consecutive years.
Before departing in 2015, he made a triumphant return to the club in 2013, winning a third Premier League title and another League Cup.
Due to increasing pressure on current manager Mauricio Pochettino, rumours have circulated that Mourinho could return to Chelsea for a third stint.
Nevertheless, he confided in A Bola that he lives just two minutes away from Chelsea’s stadium in London, and that he can hear both the goals and the protests from his house.
When the crowd began chanting my name, I no longer attended football games. I will need to visit other stadiums.
Luz, the stadium where Benfica plays, is twenty to thirty minutes away from my other home. I attended no less than three games.
The moment they started asking things like, “Are you going to become manager?” I decided I wouldn’t be going. Their inquisitiveness ruined my life.
