According to reports, Feyenoord midfielder Mats Wieffer is the player whom incoming Liverpool coach Arne Slot is hoping to get as his first signing with the club.
When Jurgen Klopp’s tenure at Liverpool ends, Slot will likely take over as manager.
Klopp declared in January that he would be stepping down as manager at the end of the season, and Slot is likely to take over from the German after that.
According to HITC, Slot will want to sign Wieffer, his current Eredivisie teammate, after his arrival at Anfield.
His management had earlier said that Wieffer may become the “best in the world.”
The 24-year-old has found the back of the net six times and set up four more goals in 42 appearances for Feyenoord across all competitions.
