Shaboozey, a musician from Nigeria, has surpassed Beyoncé to become the number one country music artist on Billboard’s chart

Collins Obinna Chibueze, better known by his stage name Shaboozey, is a Nigerian-American musician who has achieved chart-topping success on the Hot Country Songs list of US Billboard.

While Beyoncé’s “Texas Hold ‘Em” was last week’s top country hit, his “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” took first place.

Additionally, this is the first instance in chart history where two Black musicians have held the top spot consecutively.

“A Bar Song (Tipsy)” by Shaboozey replaces “TEXAS HOLD ‘EM” by @Beyonce as the number one song on this week’s Hot Country Songs list, according to list Data, an American music data business.

Two songs from Beyoncé’s latest album, Cowboy Carter, include Shaboozey’s vocals.
