According to Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike, the FCT Administration has started buying drones to strengthen the territory’s security infrastructure.

During a courtesy visit on Thursday in Abuja, Wike made this revelation while receiving Endre Deri, the Consul-General of the Embassy of Hungary in Nigeria.

When asked about the necessity of drones, the minister responded to the consul-general by asking, “Whether we want some drones?” I agree, we can’t turn around now.

He said he would consult security professionals in order to have a discussion with Deri on the best drones to use in the FCT given the terrain.

According to him, President Bola Tinubu has included security as one of his objectives in the Renewed Hope Agenda.

The minister emphasized that there had been a significant decrease in security events, indicating that the security initiatives in the FCT were already producing benefits.

The manner we have dealt with the matter has made Abuja safer, and you can also confirm this, he said.

Deri had previously stated that Hungary is ready to work with FCTA as a partner to strengthen security in the area.
