Alia assures that flooding in Makurdi will be permanently resolved

In an effort to permanently resolve the persistent flooding that has hit the state of Benue, particularly the capital city of Makurdi, Governor Hyacinth Alia has pledged that his administration will prioritize the construction of water drainage systems.

While inspecting flood-prone parts of the Makurdi metropolis on Sunday, Alia made this promise.

He stated his intention to survey the area and make note of any problems that needed immediate attention prior to the full onset of the rains.

In addition, the governor assured the public that more measures will be taken to lessen the likelihood of flooding in the township during the wet season.

In response to the persistent floods in the Makurdi metropolitan, he said that his government is prepared to take action, particularly in the areas surrounding Wurukum Market.

He assured the crowd that work would soon begin to drain the floodwaters from Makurdi, focusing on Wurukum Market and the surrounding areas.
